Greetings, Students, Parents, and Prospective Students,

All of you know me as a private studio flute lessons teacher.  What you may not know is that I also have three children who study musical instruments.  Over the last decade while my children have been studying, I've learned about what it is like to be on the other side of the teacher-family relationship as a parent.  Like you, I have some little pet peeves about some of the inconveniences that parents and caregivers face.

One thing that I find particularly difficult is that, when traveling to the teacher's home or studio, I don't know what to do with myself for the hour, if the teacher does not have a waiting area for parents.  I can wait in my car, but this is not a good option during very hot or very cold weather.  I could wait in a local coffee shop, but this adds to the cost of the lesson (you have to pay for your coffee!), and I do not want to add any unnecessary costs for our hard-working and committed parents.  

To that end, I'd like you all to know that not only do I have a comfortable waiting area at both the Belleville and the Montclair locations, but I also have free coffee, tea, and WiFi, so that you can use your waiting time well.  

I welcome all prospective students to come and give everything a try.  Don't forget, the introductory 30-minute lesson is FREE, and for current students, you will recieve a FREE one-hour lesson if you refer a friend who signs up for a month of lessons.  Studio, In-Home, and Skype lessons are all available for your convenience.

Greetings, Current and Prospective Students!

Welcome (or welcome back ☺) to your 2016-2017 academic year of flute study.  This academic year, I am expanding my studio and modernizing the way we communicate.  I've given my teaching studio a fun, official name (The Global Flute Studio), and I've launched this new studio website, with a variety of convenient features that offer you more options for payment, scheduling, and communication between lessons.  These new features include:

• online payments with PayPal, credit, or debit card.
• convenient automatic payment deduction option.
• monthly invoices emailed to you, for your records.
• online scheduling.
• password-protected student accounts, for your security.
• remote lessons via Skype (certain conditions apply).

And if you still prefer to do things the old-fashioned way (scheduling in person, over the phone, or via email; cash and check payments in person), that's great, too!

To celebrate the new website and to encourage enrollment, I'm offering a "refer a friend" special.  Refer a friend to study at The Global Flute Studio, and get a free lesson, if your friend purchases a one-month lesson package.  You can refer a friend of any age or any level of ability; I teach flute, recorders, historical flutes, and folk flutes from around the world, including Native American flute, Irish whistle, Chinese dizi, Andean flutes, and a variety of bamboo flutes and fifes, music theory, jazz improvisation, and beginning Latin percussion.
